Space is limited, and you must be registered for the conference to sign up for an EduTour. Please note, these are on Tuesday afternoon, after the conference ends.

Tuesday, July 17

Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, 2–4 p.m.
You’ve probably seen the campus on the TV show "Project Runway" over the past dozen years. Take a tour of the FIDM headquarters campus in downtown Los Angeles. Your visit will include seeing one of the largest fashion libraries in the world, innovative design studios, Grand Hope Park and exciting student projects commemorating special partnerships with industries and the community. The tour will conclude in the FIDM Scholarship Store, which offers an ever-changing variety of merchandise donated by top fashion companies. All prices are below wholesale. The proceeds generate scholarships for FIDM students, and the store is run by FIDM students studying subjects related to fashion and retail. You will walk from the Westin Bonaventure to FIDM, which is approximately 0.7 miles.

L.A. Metro, 2–4 p.m.
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) serves a population of 10 million people and moves 1.2 million Angelinos daily through its network of rapid bus system and rail. Metro offers numerous programs to educate the public on how to safely coexist with a growing transportation network to career pathway opportunities designed to help meet the labor demand of the future. Metro staff will discuss the agency’s vision to develop interest in youth in transportation-related fields through the creation of a transportation school, its summer Transportation Career Academy Program for middle and high school students, its entry-level trainee program for recent college graduates and college students and workforce development for adults through Workforce Initiative Now–Los Angeles. To conclude the two-hour Metro EduTour, participants will participate in a tour of a Metro facility.    

Riot Games, 1–3 p.m.
Riot Games was founded in 2006 by Brandon Beck and Marc Merrill with the intent to change the way video games are made and supported for players. In 2009, Riot Games released its debut title, League of Legends, to worldwide acclaim. The game has since gone on to become the most-played PC game in the world and a key driver of the explosive growth of e-sports. Come learn more about Riot Games and the different career opportunities for students in the gaming industry.

USC Film School, 2–4 p.m.
As the only media school in the world that teaches all the major disciplines of the cinematic arts, the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) offers a uniquely interdisciplinary learning experience. Students take classes across seven divisions that cover the breadth of film, television and interactive media. SCA’s location in Los Angeles keeps students connected to the companies responsible for shaping media — many of them staffed by SCA alumni. SCA remains dedicated to equipping its graduates for leadership roles in creative media. This EduTour includes an information session covering detailed information about the school, its programs and the admission process. A limited tour of facilities may be conducted based on day-of availability.

Westin Bonaventure, 2–4 p.m.
